HAND MADE LIGHTS
HAND MADE BONE CHINA LIGHTS
The hand made bone china lights we offer you are nothing short of amazing.
Whether offered as pendants, chandeliers, wall lights or entire light concepts, bone china lights are evocative and tactile and the production process behind these light creations is an ancient and nostalgic one. Bone china, which as the name implies contains bone, usually cow bone, is warm in colour and delicately translucent. A fine example of hand made bone china lights is the DRAWN TO THE LIGHT chandelier.
Biscuit porcelain does not contain bone, is fired at high temperature and is much harder and more durable. Examples of hand made porcelain lights are SUNMOON, and POI'POI.
Other hand made lights encapsulate ceramic shapes in glass casings with stunning results. Have a closer look at the wonderful GEO pendant light.
WOODEN AND PAPER LIGHTS
You will find many beautiful handmade lights in our Collection. In stark contrast to more automated production methods, in particular the ultra high-tech digital printing technologies, these highly tactile lights are painstakingly hand produced in small workshops and ateliers. And as such, each hand created light is quite unique.
Some of the hand made lights we offer are executed using wood, wood veneers, canvas and paper materials, each design emitting light in surprising new ways.
Beautiful examples of hand made wooden, canvas and paper lights are THE WISE ONE, TR19, THE BRIDE and THE SISTERS.
HAND MADE GLASS AND METAL LIGHTS
In lighting, glass is used in different ways and often produces the most aesthetic of handmade glass lights. Its lustre, sheen and reflective qualities add extra dimensions to a good light design and the partners we work with use these characteristics to great effect in their outstanding glass light designs. Examples of superb hand made glass lights are the lovely KIRCHSCHLAG and ACQUAMIKI pendants.
Another great material used for handmade light designs is metal - whether forged, molded, cast or woven. When shaped and forced by hand and stressed to a more or lesser degree, metal can be worked to create highly aesthetic shapes and finishes. Some beautiful examples of hand made metal lights are THE QUEEN and EUCALYPTUS.
